'Anxiety Informational Section'

What is Anxiety?
Anxiety is generalized as GAD (generl anxiety disorder).
People can suffer from persistent worry and tension that is much worse than
the anxiety most people experience occasionally.
Extreme or chronic anxiety associated with GAD can make ordinary activities
difficult or even impossible.
The worry is hard to control and interferes with daily life.
GAD develops over time and to be diagnosed with GAD,
you must have had anxiety more days than not for at least 6 months.
The anxiety must also be associated with at least 3 of the following symptoms:
Restlessness or feeling keyed up
being on edge
Fatigue
Difficulty concentrating
blanking out
Irritability
Muscle Tension
Difficulty falling or staying asleep
restless or unsatisfying sleep
GAD is about twice as likely to appear in women as in men.
Although the causes of GAD in a person are not always known, there are effective
treatments available.
Many experts agree that environmental and genetic factors play a role.
GAD can be difficult to diagnose and some may be due to stress-related complaints such
as headaches or problems sleeping.
